Chitra Resort Chronicles: A Gypsy Soul's Escape to Narail

In the pursuit of a serene escape, we, the Gypsy Soul, made the decision to set our footprints in Narail and, in particular, to anchor our journey at the much-talked-about Chitra Resort. Our journey commenced on a crisp morning from the Shohagh Paribahan counter at Malibagh. The excitement and anticipation were palpable as we embarked on the road trip to Narail, leaving the bustling city behind. The prospect of discovering the beauty of this lesser-explored town and unwinding in the embrace of nature fueled our enthusiasm.

Our first encounter with the extraordinary was the Dhaka-Bhanga expressway, the first of its kind in Bangladesh. As we cruised along the road, we were captivated by the exceptional scenery that unfolded before us. The expressway not only provided a smooth journey but also showcased the natural beauty of the surrounding landscapes.

A highlight of our road trip was the moment we approached the Padma Bridge. This iconic structure, spanning the mighty Padma River, offered breathtaking views and added a sense of grandeur to our expedition. Crossing the bridge felt like crossing into a new realm, and we were eager to continue our adventure.

As we made a pit stop at a roadside restaurant, we stumbled upon a magical moment – a family of Munia bird nesting in a nearby tree. The sweet chirping of the baby birds created a unique and heartwarming experience. It was a reminder of how nature's wonders can be found in the most unexpected places.

Arriving in Narail around 11:30 AM, our next destination was the Chitra Resort, a place we had pre-booked for our stay. Opting for an auto-rickshaw, we meandered through the town, taking in the local sights and sounds. We reached the resort around 12:10 PM.

Chitra Resort welcomed us with open arms, offering a serene ambience surrounded by lush greenery. We completed the necessary formalities and checked in. For our stay, we had booked two different types of room here.

A View of the Chitra Resort

For the first night, we had reserved the much-acclaimed River View Cottage. As we entered our abode for the night, it became evident why it was considered the best room at Chitra Resort. The cottage was strategically positioned, offering a breathtaking view of the adjacent River Chitra from the veranda. The sound of flowing water and the serene panorama created an ambience that surpassed our expectations. The room itself exuded comfort and charm, making our first night at Chitra Resort truly memorable.

However, the contrast became apparent when we transitioned to our second-night accommodation – the Garden View Suite. Unfortunately, the suite fell short of the expectations set by its counterpart. The room condition was not up to the mark, and we couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment. Also, the washroom floor was a bit unclean. The contrast between the two rooms highlighted the need for improvement in the Garden View Suite. While the surroundings were undoubtedly beautiful, the interior of the suite did not match the quality we had experienced in the River View Cottage.

Another notable concern was the presence of flies in the dining area, posing potential risks to the health and overall dining experience of the guests. This issue raised the importance of maintaining hygiene standards, urging the resort's authority to take swift action.

Our stay at Chitra Resort in Narail was not just about finding a place to rest our heads; it was a journey of exploration and discovery within the confines of this picturesque retreat. From leisurely boat rides to spirited games and serene moments by the Chitra River, our activities at the resort became cherished memories that added depth to our stay.

Now, before continuing further, here is a video of Chitra Resort from our YouTube channel-

One of the highlights of our time at Chitra Resort was the boat ride along the tranquil waters of the Chitra River. Presented with the option to explore either the rural or urban side, we were drawn to the allure of the countryside. Drifting along the rural banks of the river, we were treated to glimpses of village life, surrounded by verdant landscapes and the gentle flow of the river. It was a journey that immersed us in the heart of Narail's natural beauty, offering a glimpse into the rhythm of rural existence.

Our exploration continued with a walk in the Fairy Tale Forest. Despite the name not entirely living up to its enchanting promise, the setting and the leisurely walk offered a tranquil retreat. The peaceful ambience and the beauty of nature became a backdrop for our conversations, creating a serene interlude in our adventure.

As the day unfolded, we embraced the spirit of friendly competition with games of basketball and badminton. Engaging in spirited matches against each other added an element of fun to our stay, creating memories that would be recounted with laughter in the days to come.

Amidst our activities, we found solace in the company of the Chitra River. Sitting by its banks, we were lulled by the gentle rustle of the water and the tranquility of our surroundings. It was a moment of serenity, where time seemed to stand still, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of our natural surroundings.

In the evening, we indulged in a delightful session of tea and coffee. The resort's ambience was complemented by the soothing tunes of music playing in the background. The combination of warm beverages, scenic beauty, and the harmonious notes of music created an ambience that became a cherished memory of our stay.

We came back Dhaka by a BRTC bus. In retrospect, our journey to Narail and our sojourn at Chitra Resort stands as a tapestry woven with contrasting experiences and unforgettable moments. From the excitement of the road trip through the Dhaka-Bhanga expressway and the iconic Padma Bridge to the enchanting encounters with nature – be it the Munia bird family or the tranquil Chitra River – each leg of our adventure added layers to our travel narrative.
