Tranquil Escape: A Journey Through Kishoreganj

Recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of exploring the picturesque town of Kishoreganj, accompanied by Meham-Muna family. Little did we know that this trip would become a collection of unforgettable moments and cherished memories.

The Bumpy Start

Our journey began at the crack of dawn as we boarded a BRTC bus, eager for the adventures that awaited us in Kishoreganj. However, the initial excitement waned as we found the conditions inside the bus to be less than ideal. Multiple counters and lengthy waits added to the frustration, prompting us to reconsider our choice of transportation.

Arrival at Jalalpur Eco Resort

Despite the rocky start, we reached Kishoreganj around noon, relieved to escape the confines of the bus. Our spirits lifted when we arrived at the Jalalpur Eco Resort, an oasis surrounded by lush greenery. Welcomed with refreshing drinks, we completed the check-in process and prepared for the delights that awaited us.

Leisure by the Pool 

The resort boasted a swimming pool, a source of excitement for Meham and Muna. We spent a joyous time by the pool, creating memories and basking in the warmth of shared laughter. The experience set the tone for a delightful stay.

Scenic Surroundings and Village Exploration 

Rejuvenated from our aquatic escapades, we indulged in a sumptuous buffet lunch, overlooking the lush greenery of the surrounding paddy fields. The serene ambiance provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation, as we lounged on the resort's expansive balcony, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.

Eager to explore the local sights, we ventured out in the late afternoon, hopping into an auto to navigate the picturesque villages nearby. Our journey led us to a floating restaurant, where we savored delicious fuchka, tea, and coffee, amidst the idyllic setting. As evening descended, we reveled in the charm of rural life, captivated by its simplicity and warmth.

Barbecue Dinner and Firefly Serenade 

Returning to the resort, we enjoyed a delectable buffet dinner, featuring chicken barbecue, Bhapa, and Chitoi Pitha. The evening ambiance was enhanced by the enchanting presence of fireflies, creating a magical atmosphere as we concluded the day.

Haor Adventure and Unexpected Rain Showers

The following day dawned bright and early, signaling a day filled with adventure and exploration. Despite my wife's commitment to her medical course, she seamlessly juggled her responsibilities, attending classes online while getting ready for the day ahead.

As our time at the resort drew to a close, we bid farewell to its pleasant embrace, embarking on a sightseeing tour arranged by the resort. Our first destination, Nikli Haor, welcomed us with open arms, showcasing its breathtaking beauty. A houseboat ride along its tranquil waters became the canvas for an unexpected celebration. Muna and Meham surprised us with a birthday cake for my wife, turning a scenic journey into a joyous occasion filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Nature, however, had its own plans. Rain suddenly started to pour, creating an enchanting ambiance that added an extra layer of beauty to our surroundings. As Meham and Muna sought shelter, my wife and I seized the opportunity, embracing the refreshing rain shower. The spontaneity of the moment transformed our journey into an extraordinary adventure, reminding us of the beauty in unexpected surprises.

Our exploration continued, leading us to the ancestral residence of President Mohammad Abdul Hamid. After that we found ourselves on the enchanting Itna-Mithamoin-Astagram Road, a picturesque route that promised breathtaking views and a unique experience. Realizing that our car couldn't navigate this particular road, we opted for an auto to traverse the scenic stretch.

The road, constructed over the Nikli Haor, presented an awe-inspiring spectacle. Lined with the pristine waters and greenery of the haor, it quickly became evident why this stretch had gained fame as a prime spot for taking snapshots.

With cell-phones in hand, we embarked on a photographic journey, capturing the mesmerizing landscapes that unfolded before us. The auto allowed us the flexibility to pause, and truly immerse ourselves in the beauty that surrounded us.

As we meandered along Itna-Mithamoin-Astagram Road, the road itself became a part of the spectacle. Its unique construction, seemingly floating over the haor, added an extra layer of intrigue to our journey. We marveled at the engineering feat that allowed us to traverse this scenic route, feeling a sense of connection with the natural wonders that Kishoreganj had to offer.

Amidst our photographic pursuits, we took a moment to indulge in light snacks while still enveloped in the beauty of our surroundings. The combination of taste and sight created a sensory experience that added to the richness of our Kishoreganj adventure.

The Return Journey

Rain, once again graced our adventure with its presence. Undeterred by the downpour, we sought refuge in our trusty auto, making our way back to the shelter of our awaiting car.

As the raindrops played a rhythmic melody on the vehicle's roof, we decided to turn this weather-induced pause into an opportunity to experience the local culinary delights of Kishoreganj. With appetites whetted by the day's explorations, we headed to a restaurant to indulge in a leisurely lunch.

We found ourselves racing against time, a bit behind schedule. To our dismay, upon reaching the bus terminal, we discovered that our pre-booked BRTC bus had departed without us. Reflecting on our less-than-pleasant experience with the BRTC bus during our arrival, we embraced this unexpected change with a sense of optimism and opted for Annanya Paribahan. This decision steered us away from the disappointments of the past and towards a more promising and comfortable journey home.

Our journey to Kishoreganj turned out to be more than just a getaway; it became a tapestry of shared moments, laughter, and the beauty of nature. From the relaxation of the resort to the scenic beauty of the haor, every experience added a unique hue to our travel canvas, leaving us with enduring memories of a truly remarkable adventure.
